Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad resigned

 Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad has announced his resignation but was asked to stay on as interim leader by the country's monarch.

Mahathir bin Mohamad is a Malaysian politician who currently serves as the prime minister of Malaysia. He was appointed prime minister in 1981, retired in 2003, and returned to the office in 2018.

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo.
